20th October 2004
Dear Parents,
The Governors of St. Joseph’s School are required to provide annually a report on the exercise of their responsibility for the general direction of the conduct and the curriculum of the School. The school prospectus is also updated annually and, from this year, the Governors’ report and the school prospectus will be combined into the one document. You may still have the yellow prospectus folder from your original prospectus and you may wish to replace the document each year in this folder when you receive the new one. The Governors’ Report for 2003 – 2004 combined with the latest Prospectus accompanies this letter. Information covering the School’s curricular aims and details of planned approaches to teaching the curriculum are contained in the full School Prospectus, which every parent receives when their child is admitted to school. This information will be updated in this new combined document annually, where there have been changes. The original prospectus is still relevant in most curriculum areas. A full prospectus is available upon request.
This year’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 11th November at 7.00 pm in the school hall. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the annual report and the discharge by the Governing Body and the head teacher of their duties in relation to the school.
There were no resolutions passed at the last annual meeting.
The Friends of St Joseph’s AGM will also be held that evening followed by the AGM for our out of school provision, The TLC Out of School Club & Playscheme.
There will be a social gathering after the meetings for you to meet less formally with the Governors and committee members of The Friends of St Joseph and The TLC. Cheese and wine will be served and we hope as many of you as possible will attend.
Yours sincerely,
Martin Bethell
Chair of Governors
